cernvax was the shared machine on which we maintained the www code. It was renamed dxcern when upgraded and was phased out a couple years later. I have a backup of the www directories there, as they stood when I left CERN, circa mid-1992. The sysadmin was Dietrich Wiegandt, you might be able to track him down...

There was a VMS version of the browser and server code which we maintained on VXCERN and AXCERN, as I recall. I remember working on a port to VMS of the first version of NCSA Mosaic. I may have old files in my archives relating to all this, which you are welcome to - let me know. I also have various documents such as Minutes of CN Division management meetings from that time, which occasionally mention the WWW project.
